Yes, Prime Minister: Series One

Jim Hacker has reached the highest office in government, but getting his own way is another matter entirely. Now Prime Minister, he faces the carefully worded advice of Sir Humphrey Appleby and the diplomatic balancing act of Bernard Woolley. The setting may have changed, but the contest between political ambition and Civil Service manoeuvring is as lively as ever.

Paul Eddington, Nigel Hawthorne and Derek Fowlds reunite for the first series of the BBC's political sitcom. Written by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, the comedy turns ministerial broadcasts, government partnerships and foreign affairs into battles of language, influence and finely judged evasion.
