Uptown Girls | DVD | Brittany Murphy & Dakota Fanning | Comedy Drama | New & Sealed

A carefree adult and a child who takes life far too seriously find themselves learning from one another in Uptown Girls. Brittany Murphy plays Molly Gunn, the daughter of a rock star whose comfortable world falls apart when she loses her money. Taking a job as a nanny, she meets Ray, a fiercely self-sufficient eight-year-old played by Dakota Fanning.

Their contrasting personalities set up a comedy drama about growing up, letting go and finding connection in an unexpected friendship. Directed by Boaz Yakin, this 2003 film pairs Murphy’s free-spirited Molly with Fanning’s guarded Ray, with Heather Locklear, Jesse Spencer and Marley Shelton among the supporting cast.
