The Edukators (DVD)

The fat years are over. Three young activists. One wealthy businessman. One forgotten mobile phone that changes everything. Daniel Brühl and Julia Jentsch star in The Edukators (2004) — also known by its German title Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei. Directed by Hans Weingartner, the film follows Jan (Brühl) and Peter (Stipe Erceg), who secretly break into the homes of the wealthy — not to steal, but to rearrange possessions and leave behind a single message: your days of plenty are numbered. When Jule (Jentsch) joins them and they are discovered at a villa, the three find themselves holding their host Hardenberg (Burghart Klaussner) captive in the Austrian mountains — and begin to question everything they believe. Selected for competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2004. German with English subtitles. New & sealed.
