The Blue Max | DVD | 1966 | George Peppard, James Mason & Ursula Andress | John Guillermin | New & Sealed

For German fighter pilot Bruno Stachel, success in the skies means more than survival. Determined to earn the coveted Blue Max decoration, he pursues recognition in an officer corps where his working-class background sets him apart. The Blue Max follows an ambitious man whose hunger for prestige puts him at odds with the codes and expectations of those around him.

George Peppard leads John Guillermin's 1966 World War I drama, alongside James Mason, Ursula Andress, Jeremy Kemp and Karl Michael Vogler. Aerial combat provides the spectacle, while rivalry and class tensions give the story its edge. Rather than a simple celebration of heroism, the film examines the uneasy relationship between courage, ambition and the desire to be admired.
