The 13th Warrior is an epic 1999 action-adventure fantasy starring Antonio Banderas, Omar Sharif and Diane Venora.

Set in 922 AD, the film follows Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan, an Arab ambassador who encounters a band of Viking warriors preparing to fight a mysterious and terrifying enemy.

Ahmed is told that the Vikings need an outsider to become their 13th warrior, forcing him to join them on a dangerous journey into the unknown.

Directed by John McTiernan and based on Michael Crichton's novel Eaters of the Dead, the film combines Viking adventure, historical fantasy, action and supernatural horror.
