M*A*S*H | DVD | 1970 | Donald Sutherland & Elliott Gould | Robert Altman | New & Sealed

At the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, saving lives is serious work, but military decorum is another matter. During the Korean War, surgeons Hawkeye Pierce, Trapper John and Duke Forrest confront the relentless demands of battlefield medicine with irreverence, practical jokes and a stubborn refusal to take authority at face value.

Robert Altman's M*A*S*H brings together Donald Sutherland, Elliott Gould and Tom Skerritt in a sharp-edged black comedy that sets skilled surgical work against the absurdities of military life. Based on Richard Hooker's novel, the 1970 feature film combines an ensemble cast with dark humour and an anti-establishment spirit. This listing is for the original film, not a television-series collection.
