Produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin, the album sees Groban combining his distinctive powerful vocals with elements of pop, classical crossover and contemporary singer-songwriter music.

The album includes the singles Hidden Away and Higher Window, alongside favourites such as Bells of New York City, Galileo (Someone Like You) and Straight to You.

Illuminations reached the UK Albums Chart and was one of Groban's major releases of the early 2010s. The album was also listed in Music Week's Amazon pre-release chart in November 2010.
