Along Came Jones | DVD (1945 Film) | Gary Cooper & Loretta Young | Western Comedy | Region 2 | New & Sealed

A good-natured cowboy rides into town and finds that everyone seems to know his name, except they have the wrong man. Mistaken for notorious outlaw Monte Jarrad, Melody Jones initially enjoys the respect his unexpected reputation brings. Along Came Jones turns that misunderstanding into a Western adventure in which a little borrowed swagger soon brings real trouble.

Gary Cooper stars alongside Loretta Young in Stuart Heisler’s 1945 Western comedy, supported by William Demarest and Dan Duryea. The mix of mistaken identity, romance and frontier adventure gives the film a lighter touch than a straight gunfighter story. Cooper’s clumsy, amiable cowboy offers an entertaining change of pace for viewers exploring classic Hollywood Westerns.
