The 25th Hour (2002)

One last day of freedom. Edward Norton gives one of his finest performances as Monty Brogan, a New York drug dealer facing seven years in prison. He has 24 hours left — one last night to spend with his friends (Philip Seymour Hoffman, Barry Pepper), his girlfriend (Rosario Dawson) and his father (Brian Cox). Directed by Spike Lee, written by David Benioff. Shot in post-9/11 New York, it's a deeply felt, beautifully crafted film about regret, friendship and time running out. 15 cert. 129 minutes.
